Rec: "Interpretations" by Solvent (Snape/Harry)

Oh, yes. This is a very fine Valentine's present for Snarry fans.

Title: Interpretations

Rating: NC 17, which suits the holiday, IMO.
Warnings: Not really, apart from angst, intelligence, and eroticism. God, what a heady mix.

Harry was crushing bigtime on the Prince there in HBP. He should have been more cautious. We all knew it. But you know how it is, when your . . . libido is doing your thinking for you. It turns out that Sectumsempra wasn't the most dangerous spell in that book.

You can live with pain and emptiness for a long time. So long that it gets good to you. As the war drags on, not ending even after Voldemort is dead, Harry gets to a very lonely place. And he uses one of the Prince's spells. The spell, like all the other intelligent details this story is jam-packed with, is brilliant.

And I'm so glad this is fiction, and not real. So many of us would not have survived, if that spell actually existed.

Snape is described in marvelous, nuanced, compelling detail. Yes, yes, yes. That's him. That's the one I fell for, ages ago. And the way that he and Harry come together made me nod, and sigh happily. Oh, just how it could be.

Treat yourself. Details this lovely, and characters so intelligently drawn, don't come along every day.
