Fandom is all about irrationality, to me. And in a good way, most of the time.
Fandom is a hothouse that encourages the expression of desire, romantic love, obsession, generosity (in the endless potlatch of fannish creations, constantly circulated among friends and even strangers), empathy, and the occasional rant or wankfest.
None of it is rational. Nor do I want it to be. This is the place I come to play.
But sometimes, I do yearn for a tad more logical/rational thinking. You're only making yourselves unhappy, in the instance I discuss below.
To wit: most of my flist seems to have written off Snape. He's a goner. I mean, it's a foregone conclusion, evidently.
( hell, a bunch of you are already planning his funeral, in elaborate detail. Not yet, my sugars, not yet )
